In the aftermath of the riots rocking Britain, former Conservative and UKIP MP Douglas Carswell sits down with me.
“Look what we’ve done to this country, it’s on us!” He tells me as we examine the root causes of the chaos. The failure of elites, the failure of government after government, the failure of a whole generation. But unlike other politicians, Douglas has serious ideas about how to solve Britain’s deep problems.
Has Britain been “colonised”? What can be done about mass migration? What will unify the country? Douglas also opens about why he felt compelled to leave Britain after Brexit. We discuss the rise of Reform UK and Nigel Farage’s success in Douglas’ former constituency of Clacton. All this and much more. MUST WATCH

The English in particular have been denigrated since devolution in 1997 . It’s time we joined the family of nations and convened an English Patliament
I much admire Douglas Carswell’s work. His book Progress vs Parasites is well researched, well written and very persuasive. He’s right that politics is downstream of culture, and ours is unwell. But the radical solutions he proposes will happen only when the public are confronted with either a compelling opportunity or an actual crisis, like war or economic collapse. In the absence of such provocations, and for as long as we continue to paper over our problems with funny money, inertia will prevail.
