Childlessness is on the rise. Some, like American comedian Chelsea Handler, attempt to glamourise the child-free life with influence insta-shots of the jet-setter sleep-in lifestyle. But other reports suggest 80% of childless women did not intend to be without child. And in the UK - over 50% of women are childless at 30 and 18% childless at 45.
How has this happened? Is its good thing? Is it good for women?
I speak with feminist philosopher, Unherd columnist and author of the book ‘The Case Against The Sexual Revolution: A New Guide to Sex in the 21st Century’ - Louise Perry. Louise’s book argues that The Sexual Revolution of the 1960s on wards has been incredibly damaging to women. We take a dive into how culture, the state and feminism continue to fail women and mothers, and what can be done about it.
Louise is an original and thoughtful thinker. I highly recommend her book.
