David Zweig on the Twitter Files and the failure of journalists during Covid
The Twitter Files have gone to Congress. And so it transpires, as Twitter Files journalists Matt Taibbi and (former Marshall Matters guest) Micheal Shellenberger found out, that government collusion to suppress free speech in the United States is a joke to some Representatives.
I spoke to one of the Twitter Files journalists David Zweig about the significance of the hearings when they began at the House Oversight and Accountability Committee.
David was brought in to Twitter HQ to assist Bari Weiss given his expertise on COVID. His journalistic work through the pandemic meant he knew what to look for when it came to censorship of pandemic-related issues.
As well as describing the experience of those three days in San Francisco he tells me what he found and some of the mechanisms and ideologies at play behind the censorship.
He also explains the failure of journalists during the pandemic. How is it that mainstream and legacy media journalists failed to keep pandemic policy makers to account? How is it that there was an “astonishing lack of curiosity from journalists”?
He describes his bewilderment at government policy on COVID despite the empirical evidence. We go into the efficacy of masks, vaccine links to myocarditis and his story behind the Great Barrington Declaration. We also explore the ideological links between censorship and bodily autonomy, as described in his Substack piece.
Great insight on the ever-unveiling scandals.

Winston,
Greetings. I am delighted to be able to subscribe to your WinStack materials. Although I have enjoyed your music for many years (and have actually used several Mumford & Sons songs as framing devices for class discussions), I had no idea of the depth of what you suffered personally & professionally until encountering an extended interview with you last week. As an English professor specializing in women’s literature, many of the socio-cultural issues you are discussing have profound relevance for me. Thanks for the balance & grace you are bringing to these charged debates. I pray that you will find a great sense of meaning & encouragement in this new stage of your life. Many blessings!
