Few people today have suffered the consequences of wrongthink quite like Dr Jay Bhattacharya
.
The Stanford Universiy professor, who is a physician, epidemiologist, health economist and public health policy expert, was one of the co-authors of the Great Barrington Declaration in October 2020.
The GBD advocated against lockdowns and was the subject of severe censorship. Censorship by big tech, as was confirmed by Bari Weiss in the Twitter Files:
And also at Stanford University as described in his recent piece for Tablet Magazine.

Government collusion with Big Tech on censorship was not unique to the United States. As early as January 2020 UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock was in contact with Twitter about ‘tweaking their algorithms’. Hancock was also ‘horrified to discover’ Bhattacharya’s GBD co-authors had met the Prime Minister. (All of which was described by Isabel Oakenshot.)
I asked Dr Bhattacharya about the story of the GBD, its censorship and the personal and professional consequences he experienced.
He describes meeting Elon Musk at Twitter HQ and his own role in the Twitter Files.
We also discuss how censorship kills and whether he has been vindicated by time.
Dr Bhattacharya also talks to me about the recent excess deaths recorded post pandemic.
I found Jay to be totally inspiring. His story really exemplifies the lunacy of the last few years. How is it that scientists discussing data can be vilified and ostracised as he has been? He is a man that stood by his convictions with grace and humility. A true pleasure to meet him.

Great person - great interview - Jay finished off saying he’d still tell his grandkids that Santa Claus exists - what went unsaid is that he’d stop telling them that when they grew up
