One of my favourite interviews on my US trip for the election was with Dr Drew.
As well as telling me how he got cancelled, not once, but twice… first from CNN and second for his stance on COVID, Dr Drew gave me the history of America’s mental health crisis.
I must admit, my limited knowledge on the topic beforehand vaguely had Ronald Reagan to blame. Dr Drew explained how wrong I was.
In this fascinating history of mental health policy in the USA we also discussed the Kennedy family lobotomies, Abraham Lincoln’s extra-marital affairs, fentanyl, addiction and the fall of California.
